About 20 actual species exist within the genus Helleborus. By the process of hybridization an unimaginable number of hybrids have developed. Many hybrids have\u00a0<em>H. orientalis<\/em>\u00a0and\/or\u00a0<em>H. torquatus<\/em> as one of their ancestors. Do not do this with the other three: this year&#8217;s stem will flower\u00a0next year. The stems that have flowered can be cut off near the soil in July. Generally, these plants do not live very long, but through seed sufficient offspring is generated.<\/p>\n<p><em>H. lividus<\/em> and\u00a0<em>H. vesicarius<\/em> are not particularly strong plants. Especially in harsh winters, these are the first victims.<\/p>\n<h3>Group 2 contains:<\/h3>\n<p><em>Helleborus atrorubens<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus croaticus<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus cyclophyllus<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus dumetorum<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus abruzzicus<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus liguricus<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus boconei<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus multifidus<br \/>\n<\/em><em>Helleborus multifidus subsp. hercegovinus<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus multifidus subsp. istriacus<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus multifidus subsp. multifidus<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus niger<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus niger subsp. macranthus<\/em> (syn. <em>H. niger major<\/em>)<br \/>\n<em>Helleborus niger subsp. niger<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus odorus<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus odorus subsp. laxus<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus odorus subsp. odorus<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Helleborus orientalis<\/em> (Note: most of these plants\u00a0are\u00a0now
